Take a deep breath... and now get ready to dive down into your inner world for this powerful full moon in Pisces.
The moon is near its perigee, its closest point to Earth, which makes this a super moon. The careful observer might notice that it's a little larger than normal in the night sky. And it feels larger than normal in the inner sky because... well, firstly it's in Pisces, the Luna Tuna's home moon of the two fish swimming in opposite directions. Ruled by Neptune, Pisces is the un-naming of the named in the Taoist sense. It's the realisation that although I have my own identity, come from a country and a family and have many things that make me 'me', I am also none of those things. Although it feels like I am the wave, I am in fact the ocean.
If that's not Neptunian enough for you, King Neptune himself is only 2 degrees away from this full moon. When you're staring at that moon, although you won't realise it, you'll be seeing Neptune too.
On the other side of the sky is Jupiter and the Sun in Virgo giving this moon just the kind of anchor we need. Deep sea diving is ill advised without a boat to come back to.
And so, conditions are perfect for some introspection this full moon. Especially with Venus, Pluto, Neptune, Chiron and Uranus all retrograde.
Here's what I find fascinating about this Pisces full moon: it's the culmination of the Leo new moon a few weeks ago that asked of us to play, enjoy and be creative. Leo, ruled by the sun, was an exploration of our identity, the things that make us unique and special. And now here we are with Neptune in charge, the deep felt understanding, beyond logic and reason, that we are one.
It points to the great paradox of knowing myself as a single, unique entity and also understanding this is not the case. There's something greater than me at play, forces that I may never comprehend that affect my life in very real and profound ways.
Where is this stream of thought going? Back to the sea of course, as all streams eventually must. This moon is about faith: a word much maligned in this scientific age where we imagine ourselves to have all the answers. It's about faith, that deep down in my essence I know who I am and where I'm going, no matter how it appears to others (or even myself) on the outside. Faith that Source is always there to welcome me home after long journeys into foolish, complicated thoughts. Faith that the vision that I have for myself is real, if not yet realised.
And faith that I am being guided through this life, and I can choose to listen or choose to ignore it. The guidance is there none-the-less. And this isn't just for those who believe in angels. Trust in whatever it is that doesn't give you the heeby-jeebies, whether that be gut instinct, inner knowing, Source, God, Allah, the Universe, the Force... whatever is is, listen to it.
This moon feels like it truly is a gift. A timeout from the world to dive deep into the eternal internal, beyond the stormy seas on the surface, and feel yourself at your core, at your essence. Who knows what sunken treasures you might find deep down on the ocean floor.
The mix is a sequel to Us and the Ocean. A musical sandwich with the Scruff bakery providing the bread. If you get on board it'll take you where you need to go.
